After five years as chairman of KPR Steve van Dyk is stepping down from the role. He is extremely proud to have been the second chairman of KPR, following in the footsteps of founder and original chairman of the club J-F Burford. Over the last five years Steve has overseen the expansion of the club in terms of playing members and is proud of how this has been achieved, forming new partnerships in the local area and whilst maintaining the community spirit and club ethos.
The club is run by volunteers and would not exist and flourish without their tireless effort, so Steve would like to thank them all for their amazing contribution to the club during his time as chairman and in the future.
It’s entirely appropriate then that one of those volunteers, Ken Hunnisett, will succeed Steve.
Ken has followed the journey that so many of us have, as a father of an 8-year-old girl keen to try a new sport, he spent a season cheering from the sidelines before starting to coach on a Saturday and managing her team. Just our third chairman in more than 25 years, Ken is committed to continuing where Steve left off: working with our incredible volunteers to grow the club further still and ensure a safe, happy environment for our community to enjoy the sport we all love.
